NCIUA
NCIUA is providing coverage for the citizens of North Carolina since 1969. The North Carolina Insurance Underwriting Association Known as the Coastal Property Insurance Pool (or Coastal Property Insurance Pool). It is a non-profit association of insurance companies. Nciua has the authorization to provide essential property insurance coverage in North Carolina. The Association was established by law as a market of last recourse to provide sufficient essential property insurance. It’s for property owners with insurable property in North Carolina’s Beach and Coastal Areas.
GRANT Program by NCIUA
NCIUA aims at reducing the impact of windstorms on property in North Carolina, as per its plan of operation, and in compliance with the statute. NCIUA has therefore implemented an affirmative pilot grant mitigation program called Strengthen Your Roof (“Grant Program”). The Grant Program intends to increase the resilience and weather resistance of NCIUA-insured properties. The Grant Program helps to offset the cost of replacing qualified roofs that are covered by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (“IBHS“) “FORTIFIED Home(tm with new roof cover”) standard.
Partnership Of NCIUA with IBHS
“NCIUA and IBHS have become partners to assist policyholders in North Carolina beach communities. They have come together to make their homes more resilient to severe weather,” explains NCIUA General Manager and CEO Gina Hardy. “Eliminating or minimizing storm damage allows our policyholders to return home after a storm and quickly restore their lives.”
